Exotic Pet Surrender, Stevens Point Wisconsin
J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue (JRAAR) is hosting a pet surrender and adoption event in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on August 22. Exotic pet owners who are no longer able to care for their companion animals can surrender their pet with no questions asked. JRAAR will find a suitable home for surrendered pets to protect both the animals and the environment.
While it may seem that releasing your animal is the right thing to do, many pets do not survive in the wild; some do, however, and some become invasive and harmful to the environment. The Habitattitude Exotic Pet Surrender Event brings together a collection of area rehoming partners that provide responsible alternatives to release. Area organizations participating in the upcoming event include Golden Sands Resource Conservation & Development Council, Inc., and University of Wisconsin Sea Grant/Water Resources Institutes.
When: 12 noon – 3:00 p.m., August 22, 2021
Where: Schmeekle Reserve, 2419 North Point Drive, Stevens Point WI 54481
Accepting: fish, invertebrates, reptiles, pet birds, small mammals, and plants
This program is possible due to our sponsor Josh’s Frogs and Festival Foods and their Paw Away Hunger Program.
