Who’s feeding the fish at your house? If you or someone in your home has lost interest in maintaining the aquarium, or if your koi needs a new home, we have a solution: The Habitattitude Surrender and Minnesota Aquarium Society Auction event is held in conjunction with the Minnesota Aquarium Society’s day-long auction. Surrender your unwanted fish and aquatic plants at this event instead of releasing them into the environment. Surrender event is co-hosted by Minnesota Sea Grant and University of Minnesota AIS Detectors.
Habitattitude, a nationwide public awareness campaign aimed to help aquarium and water garden owners, teachers and students become part of the solution to prevent the release of aquatic fish, plants, snails, crayfish and unwanted live classroom study specimens into the environment. Three times a year, the Minnesota Aquarium Society holds a day-long auction. Local aquarists bring their bagged fish, bagged aquatic plants, tanks, and aquarium supplies. Each item is auctioned to those attending with the seller receiving a share of the selling price.
